Based on an analysis from BuzzSumo, “This is why” is the second most engaging term found in clickbait headlines. The “Un-Internet” newsletter is named after one of the principle breakdowns of the Internet.
And, “This is Why” is also shorthand for “This is why we can’t have nice things,” one of my favorite expressions, used to blame someone for engaging in behavior that has led to something valued becoming ruined or corrupted.
Taken out of the context of clickbait, “…This is Why.” is meant to highlight the strategic and integrated nature of the topics I cover in the newsletter, as distinct from “how to” and more tactical information.
Three meanings behind one short name.
